Bakbakan sa TNC Morayta

In October 2023, Gridlock-Games brought the heat to TNC Morayta with their very own “Bakbakan Series”—a LAN playtest event held right in front of FEU Manila.

The Bakbakan Series is Gridlock-Games’ unique spin on the classic “Dayo Serye,” where the studio takes its flagship title, Vi the Game, on the road. These LAN playtests serve a dual purpose: testing the latest game updates and introducing the game to new audiences through immersive, face-to-face sessions.

This leg of the series featured special appearances by Brigida and Butters, two well-known shoutcasters in the Philippine esports scene, who brought energy and excitement to the event.

Participants included students and esports enthusiasts from top universities such as Lyceum of the Philippines (LPU), University of Santo Tomas (UST), Far Eastern University (FEU), University of Caloocan City (UCC), and more—making it a melting pot of talent, feedback, and competitive spirit.

The event featured high-energy matches, including “King of the Hill”—Vi the Game’s modern take on the classic “Palit Talo” format. In this mode, the reigning player holds the throne by continuously winning, until a worthy challenger rises to dethrone them. But the spotlight was on the Team Elimination battles, where teams clashed in the arena to prove who truly deserved the title of champion. At stake: bragging rights, glory, and a ₱10,000 grand prize for the ultimate victors.
